5 Ways to Pump Up Your Ponytail

Evening guys. I thought I'd kick off this week's posts with a little hair inspiration. Anyone that knows me, as a hairdresser, will know that simplistic, minimal styles are my favourite. But I know that it's also quite easy to get bored with these styles; everyone wants to mix things up once in a while. So let's mix things up..

Tonight I'm taking the ponytail! I genuinely can't express how much I love a good ponytail High and sleek, or low and messy, it can be worked for a Saturday night, or a Monday morning. SUCH a versatile look, I thought I'd show you all a few ways to change up your normal ponytail. And so easy, anyone can achieve these looks:

Rough up a low ponytail by twisting sections of your hair and blasting them with a hair dryer. Use a texturising spray, or sea salt spray to achieve this messy, bed head look. Create a low ponytail using a section at the nape of your neck and pin the rest of your hair around it for a edgy glam look. Or divide hair into two sections and tie them around each other, securing with pins. Perfect off-duty look.

Freshen up your high ponytail by adding something different. Create a braid, or take some inspiration from above; this first look is simply created by using small clear elastics tied on to different sections of the ponytail, and the hair in between teased out with your fingers for a different take on a standard ponytail. Or if you're feeling real lazy, just add an accessory, such as a cute bow.

And I had to add the current Queen of the ponytail, Miss Ariana Grande!! This super pony is actually super achievable. Starting at the crown of your head, take an upside down V section towards the nape of your neck. Leave this section out of your ponytail. Brush the rest of your hair up into a high ponytail, and backcomb it out for volume. This will hide the section below, creating this voluminous look.

I hope you found some inspiration from these looks. Have you got any tips? Please share them in the comments.
