styling the lob

As Spring is quickly approaching, (I am LOVING this good old stretch in the evening!!) I am seeing alot of girls changing up their hairstyles. After Winter everyone tends to feel drab, and wants a refreshing cut and colour to help the transition for Summer. Alongside ditching the ombre (which you can read about here) alot of girls are also ditching the length. The long bob is truly in, and I love it!

This has always been a favourite of mine, because it suits basically everyone and makes a great change, even if you don't want to commit to short hair. The main complaint that comes when girls get a serious cut is that they "can't do anything with it". LIES! There's so much you can do. Wear it straight, curled, waved, beachy...experiment. This length is just as fun as long hair, but half the hassle.

And who says shorter hair can't be worn up....
Honestly, I could have kept posting but I had to draw a line. (I think I've made my point). And from researching my creativity is flowing; I can't wait to get experimenting with hair.

Did you find any inspiration here?? Drop me a comment..

  1. This is exactly what I've been lusting after for my hair. I always go through periods of growing it out and then chopping it off. I'm getting married this year and so I'm going to refrain from cutting it too short before then but I can guarantee that after the big day, it will be coming off! Great post! xxx

    1. It's a gorgeous cut Kirsty. And you're not the first girl that has said to me that they want it but are waiting until after they get married. I say get the cut anyways haha To be honest, if you are wearing it in an upstyle you can still cut it to this length or slightly longer. And even if you need that extra bulk, there are some great hair pieces and extensions about for the big day. Although if you are wearing it down and you want the longer hair for photos then good luck waiting.. :)

  2. Ahh wonderful...I got mine chopped a good bit in the middle of January after trying not to get it cut for a year and a half and honestly, it was a great decision...a long bob is excellent, you can still feel feminine but there's a LOT less hassle when getting ready in the morning. Some very nice styles on here :) x

    1. Awk did you Mary!! I can't tell you how many times I've done this cut this past few weeks. It's so flattering. But growing your hair for a year and a half!?! Tell me you were getting trims?! This kills me..haha!!

  3. I've been eyeing this look for the longest, and going back and forth about whether to go for it or not. On one hand I'm like "what the hell, go for it!" and on the other hand I'm like, what if I get sick of it after one season? I mean of course it's just hair and it grows back, but still. I love Kerry Washington's lob, she styles it so well and it showcases her cheekbones wonderfully!

    1. Oh go for it!!!! It's such a versatile style and as you say, it will always grow back!! ;) The best thing about the long bob is that it still has a good length so it doesn't feel as dramatic as going short. Keep your ends trimmed and you won't be long seeing it grow back either :)
